About Us

A saree holds stories that travel across generations.

My  own love for sarees began long before I ever understood fabrics, weaves or craftsmanship. It began with my mother — watching her choose a saree, seeing each one unfold in a beautiful play of colour and texture, and feeling that there was something almost magical about the experience.

This memory is not mine alone. For so many daughters, the first connection with a saree begins in much the same way — through their mothers, their wardrobes, and those little childhood moments that stay with us forever.

Some memories never fade. They are woven into our hearts, much like the threads of a cherished saree.

For countless daughters, the love for sarees begins long before they own one of their own. It begins with watching their mothers choose a saree for a special occasion, admiring the colours, the textures and the way each beautiful drape seems to carry a personality of its own.

And then come those little moments many of us know so well — And then come those little moments many of us know so well — secretly slipping into our mother’s sarees, draping them imperfectly and standing in front of the mirror, imagining ourselves all grown up.

Life has a beautiful way of coming full circle.

The daughter who once played dress-up in her mother’s sarees one day finds herself helping her own daughter choose her very first saree. And in that moment, what is being passed from one generation to another isn’t simply six yards of fabric.

It is tradition, love, confidence, memories and a sense of belonging.

Because a saree has never been just an outfit... it carries memories, relationships, and moments we hold close for a lifetime.

It accompanies us through ordinary days and unforgettable ones — celebrations, family gatherings, festivities, milestones and those simple moments when we choose to dress beautifully just for ourselves.

A saree is not merely worn; it is remembered.

For me, what began as a cherished childhood memory gradually grew into a lifelong passion. And that passion eventually found a purpose in Studio TaraJhari — a brand created from my love for sarees, the stories they carry, and the beautiful place they continue to hold in a woman’s life.

Studio TaraJhari was created for women who love the timeless beauty of a saree but also want it to feel relevant to the way they live today.

Our collections are thoughtfully curated with an eye for beautiful fabrics, graceful colours, distinctive prints and weaves, comfortable drapes and effortless elegance.

From breezy cotton linens, Mul Cottons  Chanderis for everyday and office wear to graceful  tissue linen silks and handloom-inspired drapes for festive and special occasions, we look for sarees that bring together comfort, beauty and individuality.

We believe a beautiful saree does not always have to wait for a grand occasion. Sometimes it belongs at a quiet lunch, a day at work, a family gathering, an evening with friends, or simply on a day when you feel like wearing something that makes you feel like yourself.

Our curation celebrates Indian textile traditions while embracing the needs of the modern woman — sarees that are elegant yet wearable, distinctive yet versatile, and beautiful without feeling overwhelming.

At Studio TaraJhari, we hope every saree you choose becomes more than a piece in your wardrobe.

We hope it becomes part of your story.

A saree you reach for again and again.
A saree associated with a beautiful memory.
Perhaps even a saree that, someday, finds its way into your daughter’s wardrobe.

Because styles may evolve and generations may change, but the emotions woven into a saree remain timeless.
